Being a part of different professional development opportunities has allowed me to share with others the foundations of the eMints Instructional Model. During one of our Tiger Tech meetings we allowed the teachers to work through the parachute activity where the researched, designed, and created a parachute that met the requirements set in the activity. Teachers were able to experience all parts of the Instructional Model as they worked through the process of creating and testing their parachutes. The goal of this meeting was to encourage them to take these skills to their classes and share with their students through their own lesson design. The other photos show an opportunity where I was able to share the BreakoutEdu kit with our district's leadership team that consists of counselors, assistant principals, principals, and central office administrators. As the team worked to solve the BreakEdu puzzles, they experienced what it is like to work through an activity designed with inquiry based learning, high quality lesson design, is powered by technology, and requires collaboration with a community of learners.
Outcome 2:
Participants plan and implement effective professional development sessions based on the eMINTS Facilitation Model.

The handout in this outcome is from a PD session with our high school teachers where they were introduced to Chromebooks. The teachers worked through this handout as teams and individuals to learn how Chromebooks work and have a basic understanding to share with their students once the school year started. This opportunity allowed me to train teachers that could then train their students through the same activity. In preparation for this meeting, I built my agenda around the eMints facilitator model. The activity allowed me to coach teachers on how to use a new tech tool. The activity was enhanced with technology by sharing the handout with Google docs. Teachers were allowed to collaborate with one another to complete the activity. Designing the activity with all of this is mind led to a high quality PD opportunity for the teachers.
